03 / 3D ASSET STUDY / ILLUSTRATIVE SPEC STUDY
3D asset study
A proposed visual storytelling study: how original 3D assets can make an abstract product or idea easier to understand.
Original 3D renders & lighting studies
PLACEHOLDER / Add original renders, clay passes, lighting comparisons, and final composite frames.
01 / Define the asset’s purpose
Choose the concept that live-action footage cannot clearly communicate. Decide whether the 3D asset explains a mechanism, demonstrates a benefit, or supports the brand’s visual identity.
02 / Build for the story, not the effect
Plan composition, materials, camera motion, and lighting around the viewer’s attention. Keep the product or idea readable before adding visual complexity. Match the render to the rest of the production.
03 / Integrate and review
Place the render in the edit where it resolves a question or strengthens a claim. Review pacing, readability, and continuity. An attractive render is not evidence of improved performance without an appropriate test.
EVIDENCE TO ADD / Source assets, lighting iterations, final frames, and the creative rationale.
